I loved to day! it was so wonderful to be in the woods! The only thing that could have made it better is if Joshua would have come with us. Megan is a good friends of mine, and a fellow bartender at the Oxford, and Joe is one of our regulars turned friends. I am always so swept up by the beauty of God's creation! It was so beautiful up there. Just majestic and almost dreamy. You know how when you dream it's kinda hazy, like your in the clouds? Well that is what it was like up there. I guess because we were really in the clouds. I think Manny was hoping it was all a bad dream, I am pretty sure he thought he was going to die of exhaustion! I was starting to wonder if I might die myself. It was pretty brutal at times but I like the challenge! 4 miles of incline will get yeah at the beginning of the season! Any time we would stop to take a breather, Manny would flop down right in the middle of the trail. I need to teach him better trail etiquette, people had to step over him as they passed. Joe stayed with Manny while Megan and I climbed to the top of Hay Stack. From the top you can see all the way to Seattle on a clear day. It's a breath taking view, and is so worth the extra climb! Megan had come up with her family the week before and said they saw a mountain goat. Unfortunately we didn't see any this time. We signed the log, took a few pictures and then made our way down Hay Stack to meet up with Joe and Manny. When we got back to the car to our surprise it was already 4 pm. We started the hike at 10 am! Non of us had any idea we had been on the mountain for so long! Joe bought us milk shakes in North bend, and we enjoyed them as we drove home in the hot car. Exhausted and hungry Megan and I treated our selves to Mexican food and margaritas at Extapa in Duvall. It was such a great day.
