Left Hand Smoke is one of Andrew's many bands. I know Andrew from the Oxford. He is THE guy you call if you need a drummer. Last summer Andrew invited Megan and I to Hwy 99 Blues Club. He told us that he was part of a band that was attempting to cater to dancers. He also said that they were teaching blues dancing. I had never herd of blues dancing but I wanted to check it out. Megan and I showed up a couple weeks later and have been going ever since. The west coast dance community has taken over. Actually the first time I showed up I knew almost every one there! It quickly turned into a hot spot for west coast swing dancers. It's our Monday night place to be. Even my mom comes out. Joshua, Jim and Katie rotate teaching every 6 weeks. A close knit group of young WCS dancers has formed and we all decided to go support Andrews new band Left Hand Smoke. They were having a CD release party at the triple door. The triple door is a beautiful venue. I love how it's set up. There are 3 stories to the triple door. The top floor is the Wild Ginger, a classy Thai restaurant, where we had a nice dinner before the show, then there is the triple door bar. Again classy. The bar is a full circle, the walls are lined with dark intimate booths and huge fish tanks with exotic fish. there is a small dance floor and typically a band playing blues or Latin music. The lower floor is the theater. there are booths carved into an amphitheater style room. soft candle light, and a beautiful stage. We settled into our seats and enjoyed the band. By the end of the show we were dieing to dance. In the main room there is no dance floor. So we went up stairs after the show and danced to the last few songs of the night. We still had not had our fill so we all rolled into the Hwy 99 Blues Club to finish off the night. Junk Yard Jane and the Fabulous Roof Shakers were playing. The group took over the dance floor and cut a serious rug. The Fabulous roof shakers play at the Oxford  several times a year and picked Megan and I out pretty quickly. They thanked us for getting the party going. We would be seeing them shortly. They are playing the Oxford on Saturday. We closed down 99 as well and finally called it a night.
