So I really was not in the mood to dress up or work. I could have cared less about new years this year. We threw a Nightmare after Christmas New Years Eve party with Wired. It was kinda a wacky costume party. All I really wanted to do was wear my jeans and a t-shirt. I was cold and just not in the mood. I threw a dress in the car and plopped the trapper hat Megan got me for Christmas on my head and called it good. I got to work and Randi was dressed in pink shorts and a Micheal Jackson t-shirt. I knew Megan was wearing her fantastic cocktail dress and wanted me to wear the dress that I brought. Randi and I took about 4 shots of Red Bull (we like to shoot it so it feels like we are partying too. I threw on the dress over my clothes left my hat on and called my self a snow princess. People loved it. I looked absolutely ridiculous but all night long people were telling me how cute I was. Seriously....? What ever floats your sled I guess. The night came and went. We didn't have an empty seat in the house. Even with a $20 cover charge at the door. Mom and Dad had a great time. I was able to work it out so that Frank, Chip and George shared a table with Mom and Dad. I think they all enjoyed each others company. The night went off with out a hitch. We toasted the new year with Champagne and jolly good fellowed it, blew our horns and popped our streamers, exchanged kisses and wished each other a happy new year.... And then we cleaned up all the streamers and horns took out the trash and turned out the lights. Good Bye 2009, Hello 2010 and Happy New Year....

Monday night we met two dancers from Canada. I just fell in love with them. They were ton's of fun. There also some really great blues dancers that came out. It was a great mix! We all chatted and decided that we were all going to to go to Century Ballroom Tuesday and then to Waids for some blues dancing. We swung by and picked up Jesse another new friend we met Monday night and met Katie and Jay at Century. The dance floor had all of 3 couples so we checked out the new restaurant/lounge at Century called the Tin Room. It had fantastic atmosphere. After our cocktail we returned to the dance. The situation hadn't changed except our Canadian friends Jay and Trish had arrived. We danced a few songs and then went to Waids. Katie and I decided that Waids is like a modern day Seattleite Moulin Rouge. We are pretty sure if you look hard enough you would find an opium den some where in the building. It kinda feels like flappers with cigarette extenders should be walking around flirting with the gentlemen that are doing illegal things like drinking during prohibition. When you first walk in you get slapped across the face with the smell of sweat. It's so hot and humid you immediately strip down to the bare minimum clothing. Directly in front of you is a doorway with a curtain. Behind the curtain is a staircase that leads to a balcony that over looks the dance floor. Couches line the walls and there are shoe covering the floor. coats and bags are tossed on the couches and very few people are up there because the air is even hotter upstairs. at the top of the stairs to your left is a small room. This my friends is the "Pillow Room" We have been warned to not go in the pillow room for all of the reasons that you are imagining right now. The dance floor is always packed full of blues dancers and the mix of blues being played is phenomenal! I love blues dancing. Waids is my new favorite place to dance. I think blues dancing will make me a better all around dancer. It forces me to really feel the dance and follow my partner. That and it's so much fun. We had such a great time dancing with our new friends.

So Cute!

We started out at Mom and Dad's on Christmas Eve, Mom made some snacks and we opened presents and relaxed around the Christmas tree for a while. Mom and Dad got me this really great clock and a Picture frame I really wanted. Joshua got me a $500 gift card that is for travel only. It was very sweet. He loves me. I was going to get him a bike but I didn't know what kind he wanted and every time I get him some thing like that he takes it back and gets what he really wants so I just told him to pick it out and get it. It's better for both of us. I don't get my feelings hurt when he wants to take it back and he doesn't have to pretend to like what I got him. Sad.... Any way's We went home and packed for the night up at Grandma and Grandpa's. This might be the last year they are in the cabin. They want to sell their house this year. I wish some one in the family had the money to buy it. It's such a great place. We had a nice dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Cheryl came up too. It was good to catch up with her. Cheryl, Joshua and I ended our evening squished on the small couch upstairs watching Elf till the wee hours of the night. Christmas morning was full of Breakfast, the reading of the birth of Jesus and then presents. After presents the rest of the day was taken up mostly by cooking and dinner. I was so excited to see my bed when we got home that evening. Two day's were gone in a flash. And on that note, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
