Koda's cutest picture ever....
Joshua kicking foam loose so that it would fly across the wet sand
and his precious little Koda would chase it till it disappeared into thin air.
You get that sea foam Koda!
The sun came out for me today.
I think God knew I needed a few rays of sunlight.
Even if it was cold.

Nick & Seth Today we took a short road trip to New Port. We pulled into a state park and every one got out and looked out at the water. The Sun was shinning and a long jetty stretched into the ocean. I could hardly stand it! I wanted to be out on the end of that jetty so bad! Every one had other ideas. Some left and went to Starbucks, other's went to a really cool old light house built in the 1800's, by some miracle I talked Joshua into staying at the beach and walking out to the Jetty with me. I had a wonderful time! We didn't get to go all the way out to the end because we ran out of time but it was awesome. Koda was cracking us up. She couldn't resist chasing the foam that came loose from the edge of the water. It would fly across the wet sand and eventually dissolve into nothing. She would chase it and then stop all of the sudden and look frantically for it, then catch a glance of another one and go after it. This went on the whole way to the jetty and back. It was so darn cute. Manny just sat and watched like he knew that there was no catching it no matter how hard you pounced.

I swear the windows seamed like they were flexing. We turned off all the lights and watched for a while. Then I think it was Emily piped up and said I'm goin' out there. A small group of us decided we were in. So we bundled up and ventured out only to find the rain was gone for the moment but the wind was still there. We walked down to the beach and Deborah and I shared some rumplemintz and Justin, Joshua, Myself and Deborah enjoyed smoking cigars as we strolled along the edges of the untamed waves. I loved being out there on the beach at night.

Every year the Sturgeon family tries to meet somewhere in the middle and spend a week together. Last year it was in Joseph Oregon in September, the year before that it was in Mccall Idaho in December. This year we met in Lincoln City Oregon in October. We rented a big house by the ocean. Our first full day we went to the beach. The kids had a great time flying kites and building sand castles. The dogs never once stopped chasing each others tails, and I took big deep breaths of salty air closed my eyes and felt the wind on my face and in my hair and listened intently to the waves crashing on the shore. I love the ocean. It was fun to watch my little dogs run around on the beach. Joshua was like a proud papa. He is total mush with Koda. That little dog melt his heart like a popsicle on a hot summer day. We spent several hours on the beach and then headed back to the house so we could start dinner. Every one took a day to cook. On our day Joshua made his famous California scramble and For dinner he made one of our favorite creations. You know those night's you take every thing in your fridge and make magic happen in the kitchen? Well Joshua makes these I guess egg roll things that are awesome! They were a hit. Every night we would set the kids up with a movie and the adults would gather in the upstairs TV room to watch a section of Laugh your way to a better marriage seminar. After that we would spend some time in prayer together as a family and then turn in for the night. It was a great way to end our day's together. Joshua and I both felt like we learned a lot. It was good.
